MICHAEL GUY APPOINTED CHIEF EXECUTIVE AT HERITAGE TRUST FOR THE NORTH WEST

Heritage Trust for The North West (HTNW) is delighted to appoint Michael Guy as its new Chief Executive.

Michael has held key roles in national heritage organisations for the last decade. He has also worked in fields of law and regeneration with a particular focus on grant funding.

The Manchester-based heritage professional brings a wealth of experience to HTNW gleaned from his time at English Heritage, National Lottery Heritage Fund, North West Regeneration Agency and Homes England.

HTNW is the north’s leading heritage and building conservation trust. It breathes new life into heritage properties which were once at risk and shares them with communities.

Established in 1978 by John Miller, the organisation leads significant regional projects and owns / manages over 20 historic buildings including Lytham Hall, Pendle Heritage Centre, Bank Hall and Higherford Mill.

Michael Guy said: “I am delighted to be joining a fantastic organisation which protects, preserves and promotes amazing heritage across the region. We have an excellent team  and a fantastic group of volunteers and loyal audiences.

“I am really positive about the future and look forward to continuing our excellent existing activity as well as pursuing new projects.”

John Turner, chair of HTNW said: “We are delighted Michael has joined us. He will build on the great work of our previous chief executive Liz Moss and bring fresh perspectives to the organisation.

“Michael has a fantastic combination of legal, regeneration and heritage experience. He is well-placed to provide valuable technical knowledge alongside a broader understanding of the historic environment: its need for preservation but also its role in economic and cultural renewal.”
